Dr. Shanfari has diverse experience spanning into academia, business, and civil society in Oman. His current responsibilities include Faculty Member in the Department of Economics and Finance at Sultan Qaboos University, a Member of the Board of Trustee at the Royal Academy of Management, and a Board Member of the National University in Oman. His previous experience included a member of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman, Board member of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX), vice chairman of Omani Economic Association, and chairman of Bank Muscat Money Market Fund. Also, he served as a board member in Galfar Engineering & Contracting Company (SAOG), Al-Omaniya Financial Services Company (SAOG), and Omani Packaging Company (SAOG). Dr. Shanfari holds a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. He also has an MA in Economic Planning from the Institute of Social Studies at the Hague, the Netherlands and BSc in Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

Himansu Mohapatra has more than two decades of experience that span into managing equity & fixed income portfolio, private equity & venture capital investments, real estate development & Greenfield projects. He has set up, acquired and managed several new ventures in the Education, Healthcare, Industrial, Aquaculture, Media & Communication, Technology, Entertainment and Hospitality sectors. He holds directorship in companies including Oman Investment & Finance Company SAOG, Muscat Thread Mills SAOG, Computer Stationery Industry SAOG, Al Sahab Al Zomardy SAOC and several unlisted companies in Oman and in the region. He is currently working as Group General Manager - Investment with Muscat Overseas Group and has worked with Sovereign Wealth Fund in Oman and leading financial institutions in India. He holds a Master Degree in Commerce (Advance Accountancy) and a Postgraduate in Business Management (Finance).


Damon Hewson

Damon Hewson brings nearly 30 years of experience in education, including over 15 years as a successful senior leader and headteacher in the United Kingdom, where he led several secondary schools - often in challenging contexts - before moving to Oman to become Principal of AGS Salalah. He was subsequently appointed Director of Education for AGS Salalah and AGS Duqm, a role which expanded in May 2025 to include AGS Muscat, where he now also serves as Principal.

Mr Hewson qualified as a school inspector in 2013 and brings significant expertise in school improvement, inspection readiness and strategic planning. A highly visible and collaborative leader, he is known for inspiring staff, working productively with parents and governors, and raising standards across all areas of school life. In addition to his leadership in secondary education, he has served as a governor in two primary schools and was a foster carer in the UK, reflecting his deep commitment to supporting vulnerable young people. Passionate about student achievement, Mr Hewson is dedicated to shaping outstanding leadership, promoting high-quality teaching, and raising aspirations to ensure all students thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.


Mona Al Adawi

Ms. Mona Al Adawi has more than 20 years of diverse experience spanning into academia and school administration in the Sultanate. Mona is a career-development guru in various disciplines related to education including teaching quality, curriculum development, institutional accreditation, learning and assessment strategies and children behavior analysis.

She holds B.Ed. degree from Cairo University. Starting her career from teacher to head of department followed by being vice principal and then general manager in A’soud Global School. She enjoys the merit of building strong relationships and positive communications with the school stakeholders and the wider community and follows significant approaches towards the business ethics, corporate social responsibility, team work, innovations and individual creativity and initiatives.
